Executive Coaching

Senior managers look forward to success through achievement and influence, but at times life can be lonely and challenging. This can have a personal effect on judgment, decision-making and ability to learn on the job.

In business life, as in sport, every high performer needs a coach.

Leornian's excellent reputation has been built by demonstrating our integrity, our coaching abilities and our commitment.

Executive coaching may be used to help people develop themselves in many different areas:

  • Leadership and business development
  • Problem solving and decision making
  • Life planning and time management
  • Presentation skills
  • Business relationships and influence issues
  • Building teams

Coaching is a process of identifying and overcoming blocks, planning steps and getting things moving.

Benefits

Being totally individually focused, coaching is extremely cost-effective.

The main benefits of coaching are achieved with the increased understanding gained by having to talk through issues with a coach who brings calm objectivity.

  • Situations relating to current performance issues.
  • Ensuring problems are thoroughly analysed.
  • Clarifying goals and objectives.
  • Challenging assumptions and arguments.
  • Identifying and evaluating courses of action for improving effectiveness.

Specific actions are agreed, and then debriefed at the next session. So, both client and coach can monitor the progress, highlight any unexpected outcomes and consolidate the learning.

Approach

Our approach is based on establishing mutual trust between our client and us. Our focus is to help and support the client to develop him or herself.

The key principle is to stimulate the client's awareness of the issues, then to encourage them to take action.

Our role as coach is to manage this process by asking challenging questions, listening and clarifying in a supportive way.

Where knowledge or skill gaps are identified the coach may make suggestions, but the client has to "own" the actions and take responsibility.

We may use questionnaires to aid a client's self-awareness. If appropriate, feedback may be sought from other parties as an indicator of progress.

How we work with you

In coaching everything is, by definition, individual. To reflect this, we tailor all assignments to the specific needs of the individual client.

Logistics

We normally suggest that coaching be structured around approximately two-hour sessions at an agreed frequency - initially perhaps once a month.
