Presentation Skills

"This training was some of the best I have ever had. I left the course feeling full of confidence that I had learnt a lot, and that the practical information and training will help me improve my presentation skills."

Uschi Ferry, Kimberly-Clark

The ability to present effectively on a one-to-one basis and with small and large groups is an important communication skill for everyone.

Our courses and coaching will focus on learning and practising the skills, which lead to effective, lively spoken communication.

Presenting powerfully, effectively and persuasively requires confidence and planning. Even the best presenters suffer nerves - what makes them stand out is their preparation.

Benefits

By the end of the training participants will be able to:

  • Save time in planning and preparation.
  • Put themselves across clearly and with enthusiasm.
  • Design and use appropriate visuals.
  • Involve the audience and handle questions effectively.
  • Improve confidence and reduce nerves.

For more experienced presenters - we can coach you to revitalise your delivery.

We can also help your presenters at key occasions to develop confidence for the big day.

Approach

We offer both one-to-one coaching and conventional courses, depending on experience. We'll help delegates ensure that their presentations are effective and achieve business objectives.

We use video to reinforce learning points.

Typical course content may include:

  • Planning and preparation:
    • The importance of identifying your aim, objectives and understanding your audience's needs.
  • Structure:
    • Gaining impact and maintaining interest
    • Informative and persuasive presentations.
  • The importance of verbal and non-verbal communication:
    • Developing vocal skills.
    • Understanding the impact of appearance and gestures.
  • Building confidence and controlling nerves:
    • Techniques and strategies for controlling nerves.
  • Visuals aids:
    • Designing and using them.
    • Use and abuse.
  • How to lead discussion, handle interruptions and questions.

How we work with you

Every company is different and every employee is an individual. To reflect this, we tailor all training to the specific needs and culture of your organisation.

We can work with you to build a programme for your staff or, if you have already identified your training needs, we can provide workshops which meet those needs exactly.

Logistics

Our presentation skills training typically takes one to three days, working with groups of four to eight individuals.
