Time Management

It's Not Time Management - it's Self Management

The title 'Time Management' is really a misnomer. What we are talking about is self-management. Some people have a lot of discretionary time, some very little. The challenge is making best use of time taking into account our habits, goals and distractions.

Most of us have had days when we have failed to achieve the goals we have set and we feel frustrated and let down. Often the causes seem to be other people or circumstances beyond our control. But to what extent is this true?

Benefits

Delegates find this a challenging but very worthwhile course. Typical benefits are:

  • More quality time for self and family
  • Less procrastination
  • More time to work without interruptions
  • Greater understanding of impact of their own habits and how to improve
  • Better delegation
  • Knowing when and how to say "No"
  • Better linking of short-term activities with longer-term goals

Our Approach

We believe that everyone is different and people will only change their behaviour if they identify benefits to them.

We help delegates explore their problem areas and develop action plans that are of value to them.

Typical content may include:

  • Problem areas in performance: styles of work behaviour, attitude to planning and procrastination.
  • Assessing time and performance.
  • Setting goals and priorities.
  • Diary control - identifying time saving opportunities.
  • Improving performance with effective delegation.
  • The importance of team 'Codes of Conduct'.
  • Dealing with the time-stealers- those activities that knock us off track.
  • Best practices for effective meetings.
  • Staying in control of the work desk and the paperwork.
  • Individual action plans.

How we work with you

Every company is different and every employee is an individual. To reflect this, we tailor all training to the specific needs and culture of your organisation. We can work with you to build a programme for your staff or, if you have already identified your training needs, we can provide the workshops that exactly meet those needs.

Logistics

Our Time Management training typically takes two days, working with groups up to twelve.
